Ingredients

  • 1 gallon water
  • 3/4 cup kosher salt
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon black peppercorns
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 2 bay leaves

Instructions

  • Combine water, kosher salt, and granulated sugar in a pot. Heat until dissolved.
  • Add black peppercorns, garlic powder, onion powder, and bay leaves. Stir well.
  • Cool the brine completely.
  • Submerge poultry in the brine and refrigerate for 8-12 hours.
  • Rinse thoroughly before cooking.
