Ingredients

  • 4 thick cut pork chops 1-1.5 inches thick
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp fresh thyme optional
  • 1 tbsp fresh rosemary optional
  • 1 cup chicken broth for baking method

Instructions

  • Preheat and Prep:
  • If grilling, preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
  • If pan-searing or baking, preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Pat the pork chops dry with paper towels to ensure they get a good sear.
  • Season the Pork Chops:
  • In a small bowl, mix together the paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  • Rub both sides of the pork chops with olive oil and season generously with the spice mixture.
  • Cooking Methods:
  • Grilling:
  • Place the seasoned pork chops on the grill.
  • Grill for 5-6 minutes per side, flipping only once, until the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C).
  • Remove from the grill and let the pork chops rest for 5 minutes before serving.
  • Pan-Searing:
  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Sear the pork chops for 4-5 minutes on each side until they are golden brown.
  • Add butter, garlic, thyme, and rosemary to the skillet.
  • Baste the pork chops with the melted butter mixture for 1-2 minutes.
  • Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and cook for an additional 8-10 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C).
  • Baking:
  • After seasoning, heat oil in a skillet and sear the pork chops on both sides for 3 minutes each.
  • Place the seared pork chops in a baking dish.
  • Pour chicken broth into the dish and bake uncovered for 15-20 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C).
  • Let the pork chops rest for 5 minutes before serving.
