Citrus Turkey Brine

Ingredients

  • 1 gallon water
  • 1/2 cup kosher salt
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 lemons sliced
  • 2 limes sliced
  • 1 tablespoon dried oregano
  • 1 tablespoon black peppercorns
  • 2 bay leaves

Instructions

  • Heat water, kosher salt, and sugar in a pot until dissolved.
  • Add lemon and lime slices, oregano, black peppercorns, and bay leaves. Stir well.
  • Cool the brine completely.
  • Submerge turkey in the brine and refrigerate for 12-24 hours.
  • Rinse turkey thoroughly before cooking.
